Name of the world: Earth (AKA Lazy Times Realm)
Town: New Knaan
Characters: Maude and Bakashima
Important figures:
Garvin Keurta-Claus: Maude’s older brother (18) and partner in crime in the mafia. Seems kinda like a whimp, but when he’s mad, he will take down anyone in his path. There seems to be an unusual sensitivity towards his past, especially towards his stepbrother.
Desiderio (or Desi) Keurta: Maude and Garvin’s stepbrother (28). Although he isn’t known to many of the major characters, he gets around very well. Considered very pretty and also a loyal member of the mafia (he still lives in St Joel). He cares deeply for his siblings.
Dawit (or David) Eden: Garvin’s boyfriend (17). He is religious and has a talent for singing, which he puts use at church every Sunday. Rarely does he anger and has a cheery deposition of people around him.
Erin Ulrich: Maude’s friend (17). She has struggled through most of her life and wishes to get out, but is stuck where she is. Along with one or two others, she is one of the only people who Maude empathizes with. She also seems to have unusual visions of her friends (Maude, Garvin, Dawit, Bakashima, and Desi).
Culture: New Knaan is very preppy in attitude and has a lot of money to keep this running. The town is close knitted, very religious, and there are more boutiques in the industrial area than anything else. Majority of church-goers are Mormon, but there are one or two Christian churches, and no other churches.
Technology: Computers and cars are everywhere and thanks to the money, more renovations are being done to homes, schools, etc to fit the impressions people have that are called ‘better suited for the sake of the children’.
Geographics: The town is small and almost hidden in the woods.
Status Quo:
Men: Petite, lanky preppy boys with an interest in sports and religion
Woman: Petite, skinny preppy girls with an interest in sports and boys
Beliefs: Mostly Mormon and Republican (although the children are Democrat)
Other: New Knaan is set to current America with all its good and bad points.
